Fun at the Stage Party
This is a great event that I look forward to all year! It’s wonderful to meet up with friends and colleagues plus meet some new faces. The first photo shows me with a theatre critic – if you look closely, you’ll see that he’s masked, not unlike the Phantom of the Opera. He certainly made me look twice! The lovely lady in the cycling gear is Roni Page, a great character actor who cycles all over the West End and is a theatreland legend. She’s been playing Grandma Josephine in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal. The other photo is of a representative of the Grand Order of Water Rats, an entertainment industry charity, who were collecting on the night.
Goodbye to John and Jenny
One of my favourite shops in Hitchin is the sweet shop run by John and Jenny. The sad news is that they’ve just retired after an incredible 20 years. I’d like to wish them a happy retirement on behalf of the whole of the Hitchin BID. But, I’m pleased to report that the shop is still a going concern.
Panto in Gloucester
I took time out on New Year’s Eve to spend some time with the cast and crew of the Gloucester Operatic and Dramatic Society’s performance of Cinderella.
