Trying to focus on the positive aspects of life right now, I thought I’d update you all on a little something I began doing a while ago. Yes, I signed up as a volunteer for Gloucester’s City Mission. If you’ve never heard of the City Mission, it’s an amazing charity which helps the homeless and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of it.

I spend a couple of days a week at this magnificent organisation where I do some cooking, help out behind the scenes, and chat to guests and make them feel welcome.

The Gloucester City Mission was set up by a wonderful man named Mike Curtis with the aim of helping homeless people find a better way of life. They’re always on the lookout for willing volunteers but if you don’t live locally or simply don’t have the time, there are other ways you can help out. Donations of food and toiletries are always gratefully received, and regular events provide opportunities for locals to get involved.
