Following my post dedicated to Armistice Day last week, I thought it only right to mention the absolute privilege I had to host and compere at the Broadway Theatre in Lewisham.
I performed in the guise of Sergeant Barker, my military soldier character, at the festival of Commemoration and Remembrance, which marked the 100-year anniversary of the end of the First World War. Councillor Jacq Paschoud, the Chair of Lewisham Council, was in residence alongside renowned actor, Michael Schaeffer.
Schaeffer performed as a Tommy from the Great War, and the Governor of the event was marketing events officer Carmel, assisted by the lovely Helen. We had a magnificent turn out from all ages and it was a fantastic nod to those who have served in any war.
