I had the most magnificent day in July, when I helped charity Catch A Smile release 1,000 butterflies for the NHS. Assisted by young children, families and the infamous ‘Butterfly Steve’ we released butterflies to signify our thanks and gratitude to the wonderful NHS.
The event took place in Elmore and was particularly poignant for Steve, as the releasing of the butterflies was his tribute to the NHS staff who looked after his wife during her battle with cancer. It was such a wonderful event to be part of, and an extremely emotional one too. This pandemic has really taught us all how to appreciate the amazing work the NHS does.
The Catch A Smile charity helps people with disabilities and special needs enjoy fishing. Steve found the charity to be a lifeline following the death of his wife, and they have a variety of activities available for everyone. Find out more about Catch A Smile.
