I’m very passionate about marking occasions, and St George’s Day is no different. This year, as it was such a sunny day, I donned my Freemans Robes for the service at Gloucester Cathedral.
Not one to normally miss out on wearing my Town Crier uniform, the weather persuaded me it would be too heavy and thick hence my decision to wear my Freemans Robes – which turned out to be a good one! The service was magnificent and St George looked grand in all his armour. He must have been boiling!
Also in attendance were the Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Jo Brown (accompanied by her Consort, Dave), the Town Crier of Cheltenham, Ken Brightwell, and my brother Freeman.
