Like many people I was unsure what Christmas 2020 would be like. Towards the end of the year, the Deluxe Father Christmas normally begins to defrost, ready to bring cheer to children across the UK. With Christmas 2020 looking quite different to usual, I knew I had to pull out all the stops to keep the Christmas spirit alive. So, for the first time in his life, Deluxe Father Christmas went virtual!

After making his virtual debut, he continued with online events from Letchworth to Dunstable. And, with a spot of social distancing in place, he did manage to visit Gloucester in person. In a COVID-secure manner he spent a few days in Eastgate Shopping Centre and King’s Walk Shopping Centre handing out presents to children.

Although it was quite unlike any other year, he really made the most of his online and in-person visits, and he’s hoping that Christmas 2021 will see a sense of normality restored.
